This week we are revising 'wh' and long 'i' and you will notice this theme throughout our spelling list. We looked at the long 'i' sound in depth today and while we found it a bit tricky, we got better and better the more we practiced! Ms. Twyford likes to put Alphablocks episodes on for us during Crunch 'n Sip that are specific to our weekly focus. The episodes for this week are here for you to use - just click on the pictures and it will take you to the video. If your child is finding their words tricky, why not play these videos and watch them together? Ask your child about some long 'i' words and ask them about the sounds that go together to make a long 'i' sound (i, ie, y, i_e or magic 'e', igh) - they'll surprise you with how clever they are! Let's get those conversations about learning happening!
